STAR WARS: Premise Of Damon Lindelof's Original Script Revealed And It's A Shocker - Possible SPOILERS

We finally have some news about Damon Lindelof's scrapped plans for his Star Wars movie, and while it would have still featured Rey Skywalker, it was a lot different to what Lucasfilm now has planned!

When news broke that Lucasfilm had tapped Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson to pen a new Star Wars movie, excitement among fans was palpable. After all, the former has serious geek credentials after working on everything from Star Trek to Watchmen, while the latter counts the likes of The Strain and Counterpart among his credits.

Prior to Star Wars Celebration, we learned that they had exited the project (whether that was their choice remains a mystery to us but it seems doubtful), with Peaky Blinders' Steven Knight stepping in to take their place for director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.

At the aforementioned event, it was confirmed that the project is set 15 years after the events of the Skywalker Saga. The movie will see Daisy Ridley reprise her beloved role as Rey and tells the story of rebuilding the New Jedi Order and the powers that rise to tear it down.

However, one reliable insider has now revealed just how different Lindelof's vision was.

He clearly planned to jump much further into this Galaxy's future, skipping the formation of the new Jedi Order and taking us to a point where Rey's life is nearing its end and she's in the midst of training two Jedi Knights who would presumably be the focal point of future stories.

That would have been one way to finally move on from the Skywalker Saga, but it's clear now that Lucasfilm had other ideas and doesn't want to gloss over the time Rey Skywalker spent trying to restore the place of Jedi as the Galaxy's protectors. Honestly, it feels like the studio made the right choice this time.

Rumour has it Aquaman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who worked with Lindelof on Watchmen, was the movie's male lead but has since left the project.

What do you think about these scrapped Star Wars plans?
