STAR WARS: SKELETON CREW's Episode Count And Full Writing Team Has Been Revealed

Hollywood currently finds itself in the midst of a Writers Guild of America strike, meaning writers are unable to work on TV shows or movies. Unless the strike ends soon, release date delays are inevitable, while in-production projects are bound to suffer without writers who can actively work on them.

When it comes to Star Wars, we've already heard that production on The Mandalorian season 4 has been pushed back, while the three movies announced by Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy at Star Wars Celebration have likely ground to a halt.

Skeleton Crew is currently in post-production, however, and is still expected to premiere on Disney+ later this year.

Thanks to a listing on the WGA West website, we now know the series will run for a total of eight episodes during its first season. Jon Watts and Christopher Ford are credited with writing the first four instalments as well as the final two.

However, episodes 5 and 6 were penned by Myung Joh Wesner. Her credits include Hulu's Career Opportunities in Murder and Mayhem and The Devil's Mouth. We're intrigued to learn what led to her heading into this Galaxy Far, Far Away, but Ford and Watts clearly had the utmost faith in Wesner's abilities.

Skeleton Crew follows the journey of four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home—and meeting unlikely allies and enemies—will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.

Jude Law leads the series and is joined by young actors Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, and Ryan Kiera Armstrong.

Tunde Adebimpe and Kerry Condon also star, while the directing team consists of Jon Watts, Christopher Ford, David Lowery, the Daniels, Jake Schreier, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Lee Isaac Chung.

Stay tuned for more on Skeleton Crew as we have it.
