Dafne Keen previously revealed that she's playing an alien (though isn't every Star Wars character technically an alien?) Jedi in Leslye Headland's (Russian Doll) upcoming Disney+ series, The Acolyte, during Star Wars Celebration, but the Logan actress has now shared some intriguing new details.
In the latest issue of Empire Magazine, Keen confirmed that her character, Jecki, is a "bi-species" human/alien hybrid, and offered a brief description of her appearance.
"David Bowie meets Star Wars: I have a little mullet, I have horns, it's cute."
Empire went on to note that Jecki will be the same species as Rystáll Sant, a human-Theelin member of the Max Rebo Band in Return of the Jedi (see below).
Specific plot details are still under wraps, but we do know that The Acolyte will explore a world of "shadowy secrets and emerging dark side powers against the backdrop of the High Republic era."
The show sounds quite a bit darker than its Disney+ predecessors, but Headland promises that it's not all doom and gloom.
"As a queer filmmaker, you're gonna see some camp. Inevitably! But I would say that tonally, our references are darker."
The Acolyte also stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Joonas Suotamo.
No official premiere date has been announced, but the show is expected to hit Disney+ at some point next year.
