We're still no closer to learning when Star Wars TV shows Skeleton Crew and The Acolyte will reach Disney+, but the latter is expected to arrive sometime this summer.

June 5 is the current rumoured premiere date, meaning we have just three months to go before finally seeing The High Republic era in live-action. Bespin Bulletin has rounded up a couple of new rumours today, though, including the fact a trailer is being prepared and will likely debut soon.

We don't have much more to go on than that, but fans who attended Star Wars Celebration last April got to see a sneak peek which has since leaked online. Whether this trailer will be the same or a little more revealing remains to be seen, though we'd guess it'll be somewhere in the middle.

It's also said that runtimes for The Acolyte's episodes will fluctuate from 30 - 45 minutes. That puts it in the same ballpark as The Mandalorian and Ahsoka.

We don't know how much Lucasfilm intends to explore The High Republic era beyond this series, but expect it to serve as an origin story for the Sith that serves as a prequel to the prequels. In fact, we've even heard rumblings that Darth Plagueis might somehow factor into the show!

"'The Acolyte' stands out because it is the earliest in the 'Star Wars' timeline that we have ever been in live-action," showrunner Leslye Headland revealed last summer. "We are toward the end of the High Republic, leading into George’s prequels, so we are looking at a time period where the Jedi are at the height of their power."

"We’re looking at a time period where there is peace throughout the galaxy. It was very challenging and interesting to make a ‘Star Wars’ with no war in it. So the question became, 'Well, what should the show be about if it’s not going to be about galactic conflict?'"

"I think that what makes this show different and interesting is that it’s from the perspective of the villains of 'Star Wars,'" she teased. "These are people who are using the Force in their own way, dipping into the darker sides of the Force and are doing it without being sanctioned by the larger institution, which, in this case, is the Jedi."

The Acolyte will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era with the story of former Padawan who reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes but discovers the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.

The series stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Carrie-Anne Moss, Margarita Levieva and Joonas Suotamo.

In addition to writing and directing, Leslye Headland serves as an executive producer with Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King and Jason Micallef. Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson produce. As for the rest of the show's writing team, that's said to include Jason Milcallef, Charmaine De Grate, Jasmyne Flournoy, Eileen Shim, Claire Kiechef, Kor Adana, Cameron Squires, Jocelyn Bioh, and Jen Richards.

Stay tuned for more on this one as we have it.
