Ahead of the show's return on January 4, Lucasfilm has released a new teaser and character posters for Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 2. The former features a few snippets of never-before-seen footage, including the team coming face to furry face with a group of Wookie warriors.

There's also another glimpse of Emperor Palpatine, and while it hasn't been confirmed yet, we're guessing Ian McDiarmid will return to reprise the role after last appearing in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

As for the character posters, we're guessing more are on the way as the first two released focus on Hunter and Omega. Their bond looks set to strengthen in season 2, while we're sure more about the youngster will be revealed as the series continues exploring the fallout from Revenge of the Sith.

When the new season begins, months have passed since the events on Kamino, and the Bad Batch continue their journey navigating the Empire after the fall of the Republic. They will cross paths with friends and foes, both new and familiar, as they take on a variety of thrilling mercenary missions that will take them to unexpected and dangerous new places.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 2 stars Emmy Award nominee Dee Bradley Baker as the voice of the Bad Batch, along with Michelle Ang as the voice of Omega. Rhea Perlman returns to guest star as Cid, Noshir Dalal returns to guest star as Vice Admiral Rampart, and Wanda Sykes makes her guest starring debut in the series as Phee Genoa.

The animated series is executive produced by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Athena Portillo, Brad Rau, Jennifer Corbett, and Carrie Beck, with Josh Rimes and Alex Spotswood as producers. Rau is also serving as supervising director with Corbett as head writer and Matt Michnovetz as story editor.

Check out the new teaser, along with two character posters, below.
