STAR WARS: The Next Movie To Hit The Big Screen Rumored To Be... THE MANDALORIAN!?

It sounds like that recent rumor that the fourth season of The Mandalorian is being developed for the big screen may have been true after all!

A few months ago, a rumor did the rounds online that Lucasfilm was considering developing the fourth season of The Mandalorian for the big screen, and it seems there may have been some truth to the report.

Despite initially dismissing the rumor, The Hot Mic's Jeff Sneider is hearing that the next season of the Disney+ Star Wars series might be a feature after all.

Previous reports have indicated that the Rey-focused movie starring Daisy Ridley would be the next Star Wars film to hit theaters, but Sneider is under the impression that it'll actually be The Mandalorian.

“A couple of months ago I shot this one down, that there were rumours that season four of The Mandalorian could be turned into a movie," said Sneider. "I think at the time I didn’t think that was necessarily the case. However, that is now what I am starting to hear. That the odds are in that projects favour, whatever season four of The Mandalorian turns out to be, whoever is in it, what it turns out, whatever shape it takes, it is looking like that could be the next Star Wars movie and that might be the thing that’s announced before the end of the year.”

The Mandalorian has been a massive success for the Disney+ streaming service, and even though viewership has slipped since the first season, bringing the show to the big screen would be a somewhat surprising development.

Pedro Pascal would (presumably) return as Din Djarin, despite a recent rumor claiming that he wouldn't actually be on set to film his scenes for the fourth season.

As you'll likely be aware if you're a fan of the series, Pascal's character wears a helmet for the majority of his screen-time. The Game of Thrones alum did unmask once in season 1, and twice in season 2, but kept his face covered for every season 3 episode.

During an interview with Variety earlier this year, Pascal admitted that season 3 was "mostly a voice-over gig" for him.

"[T]he show was presented to me as The Mandalorian, and all of its, like, visual identity. At that point, there was so much experience for everyone involved in terms of authoring this character that it was able to become mostly a voice-over gig for Season 3, for the most part.”

If this proves accurate, we'd say there's a pretty good chance we will see Mando's face in the movie!

What do you make of this rumor? Do you think it's a good idea to condense the fourth season of Te Mandalorian into a two-hour film? Drop us a comment down below.

"After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic."

Hope not. Would much prefer eight one-hour episodes to one two-hour movie.
