STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER Leaked BTS Photo Reveals Massive Eye Of Webbish Bog Prop

After original director Colin Trevorrow walked away from Star Wars Episode IX due to "creative differences" with Lucasfilm, the movie underwent significant changes courtesy of J.J. Abrams. Those saw Duel of the Fates become The Rise of Skywalker, though the Skywalker Saga finale has proven to be incredibly divisive.

One big moment we know did end up on the cutting room floor was a meeting between Kylo Ren and The Eye of Webbish Bog. The mysterious creature called Mustafar home and had been tasked with protecting Darth Vader's Wayfinder, though little is really known about the monster or how it factors into the wider Star Wars and Sith mythology.

Now, though, we have a first look at what it would have looked like on screen thanks to a newly surfaced behind-the-scenes photo. While The Eye of Webbish Bog has been featured in Marvel Comics stories, it's apparent that we really missed out when it came to not seeing this...thing...in live-action.

Kylo Ren's exchange with it was actually shot, though, with the movie's creature and special make-up effects creative supervisor, Neal Scanlan, previously confirming it "was a fully practical character shot in a location, and it is amazing."

As for why it was cut, he'd later add that, "I think it maybe was too lengthy an explanation for something that [Abrams] was able to explain in the movie much quicker, eventually."

The Rise of Skywalker never stopped to catch its breath, so we're not surprised that The Eye of Webbish Bog was left on the cutting room floor. Disney and Lucasfilm have never released that deleted scene, though you can take a closer look at the mysterious Sith being below.
