STAR WARS: The Title Of Dave Filoni's Movie Has Reportedly Been Revealed And It's Absolutely PERFECT

The Star Wars sequels remain incredibly divisive among fans of the franchise, but the work done by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni on Disney+ has received a far warmer response.

Taking place roughly five years after the events of Return of the JediThe Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett have explored the early days of the New Republic and what became of the Empire after Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader's respective defeats.

When Ahsoka Tano was introduced in live-action, we learned that she was hunting for Thrawn, the villainous Grand Admiral who vanished at the end of Star Wars Rebels alongside Ezra Bridger. Since then, the former Jedi has landed her own series which will see Lars Mikkelsen reprise the role.

The expectation is that the show will lay the groundwork for Filoni's eventual movie - where Thrawn will be the lead villain - and its title has seemingly been revealed.

According to one trusted insider, it's going to be called Star Wars: Heir to the Empire, borrowing the name of the Timothy Zahn novel that first introduced the villain. Thrawn was also referred to as "Heir to the Empire" in the Ahsoka trailer, so this isn't exactly a shocker.

While Filoni clearly intends to put his own spin on this story, it's interesting to ponder what he'll borrow from the author's trilogy of books. If Luke Skywalker is part of the movie, then surely the likes of Mara Jade and Joruus C'baoth can't be far behind? Then there are newer characters such as Eli Vanto and Ar'alani!

All signs point to Thrawn making a play to rule the Empire, but how that leads to the rise of the First Order and Supreme Leader Snoke remains to be seen.

Do you think Star Wars: Heir to the Empire is a fitting title?

I have the same doubts like Serkis did for Venom however I know Filoni won't put out a shite product either. He's too invested in source material and having a consistent universe but with shock and awe.
