Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 has just unveiled its release date via a brand new poster that also provides a glimpse of the various anime styles that will be featured this season.

The upcoming season is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on October 29, 2025.

The third volume will feature nine brand-new shorts, returning to the spotlight on Japanese anime studios, a format last showcased in the inaugural season.

Fan favorites from Volume 1, Kinema Citrus Co., Kamikaze Douga, Production I.G, and Studio Trigger, will be back with fresh stories. Joining them will be five newcomer anime studios: ANIMA, David Production, Polygon Pictures, Project Studio Q, and WIT Studio.

Unlike previous seasons, Volume 3 places a strong emphasis on continuing existing narratives. Three shorts will act as direct sequels to standout episodes from the first season including, The Duel,” “The Ninth Jedi,” and “The Village Bride,”providing audiences the opportunity to reconnect with beloved characters and story arcs.

Alongside these follow-ups, the season will also introduce entirely new adventures, expanding the anthology’s creative range.

Additionally, Disney+ is developing a limited spin-off titled Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi, set to debut in 2026, which will delve deeper into the story established in that particular short, further enriching the Visions universe.

The Star Wars: Visions project began in early 2020, when James Waugh, Lucasfilm’s vice president of franchise content, pitched the idea to Kathleen Kennedy. Fans have embraced the anthology with enthusiasm, leading to the announcement of a third season during Disney’s Content Showcase on November 19, 2024.

In April 2025, at Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm revealed a new spin-off initiative: Star Wars: Visions Presents.

This series will expand the most popular shorts into full-length anime productions. The first entry, The Ninth Jedi, will transform the short of the same name into a complete anime series, scheduled for release in 2026, giving fans a chance to explore the story in greater depth.
