Star Wars Celebration is set to take place next month and the annual fan celebration of all things in the galaxy far, far away promises all sorts of exciting announcements and reveals. But it seems that one of the surprises was prematurely revealed by the event's own panel schedule.
As spotted by Gizmodo, a panel on Saturday, May 28 will reveal Tales of the Jedi, a new anthology series comprised of animated shorts. The panel will be hosted by Amy Ratcliffe with special guest Dave Filoni (Clone Wars, Rebels, The Mandalorian).
Unfortunately, that's all we know based on the schedule. However, Filoni's appearance at the panel has some speculating that he will be overseeing the new series, which should have fans excited.
Tales of the Jedi comes on the heels of Star Wars: Visions, another animated anthology series that premiered on Disney+ last September. Visions consisted of nine short films produced by seven Japanese animation studios, each telling their own original stories set within the Star Wars universe.
We don't know what's in store for us with Tales of the Jedi, although there is.a comic book series published by Dark Horse Comics with the same name. The comics are set during the Old Republic Era and cover eight story arcs that take place during the time surrounding the events known as the Great Sith War.
The only thing we know for certain is the endless possibility and potential with a topic as broad as "Jedi." The name itself even suggests stories told across the Star Wars timeline, so perhaps will visit different eras.
Tales of the Jedi will be revealed on Saturday, May 28 at 2:30 p.m. Meanwhile, Star Wars Celebration runs from May 26-29, 2022.
