Bounty hunter Cad Bane made his live-action debut in The Book of Boba Fett, and while he was ultimately bested by his former protégé, the villain made quite the impact in a fairly short space of time.
Now, TV and Film Specialty Costume Builder and Prop Maker, Javier G González, has shared some amazing behind-the-scenes photos revealing the work that went into adapting the character from animation.
Fans have been desperate to see Bane make his live-action debut for quite a while now, and it didn't disappoint. Some have argued that he could have looked a little closer to what we've seen in shows like Star Wars Rebels and The Bad Batch, but that honestly feels like nitpicking (especially when Corey Burton was once again enlisted to provide the villainous bounty hunter's voice).
"I was a little intimidated at first since the only reference I could find was the animated series," González admits in the post below. "We had to think different in order to bring him to life. Shawna’s drive to deliver the best under the extreme circumstances of 'TV' schedule was a challenge we all accepted. Thank you for allowing me to model, sculpt, prototype, mold and finish the hard parts for this guy!"
A lot of work clearly went into creating Bane's live-action appearance, and it's always fascinating to receive this sort of insight into the "making-of" process.
