The Book of Boba Fett still hasn't been renewed for a second season and, at this stage, another batch of episodes hitting Disney+ looks increasingly unlikely.
Actor Temuera Morrison hasn't shied away from criticising the way he was left on the shelf when The Mandalorian season 3 rolled around and previously went so far as to say Din Djarin taking centre stage in The Book of Boba Fett went some way in "ruining" the spin-off series.
While harsh, it's a valid observation in some respects because an entire episode of the show was devoted to Din and Grogu, with both characters - and their reunion - largely overshadowing Fett during the finale.
Now, Morrison has once again chimed in on the odds of The Book of Boba Fett season 2 and it's not an overly positive update.
"I don't know what's going on there," he admits in the video below. "We're coming out of this downtime period so I think everyone is just settling back in and it all goes back to budgets and what they want to do and how much the thing costs. I really don't know. Judging by the fans I've met, they all want a season two, but I don't know what's going to happen."
In some respects, it makes sense for The Book of Boba Fett to be a limited series. After all, it finally explained how the bounty hunter survived the events of Return of the Jedi and ultimately solidified his place as Tatooine's new leader.
While there was room to tell more stories, the response to the spin-off was a little tepid and the way things played out wasn't what many fans wanted to see from a character who was arguably at his best as a mysterious badass.
That post-credits tease about Cobb Vanth needs to be addressed in some way, though, and we're sure an episode or two of The Mandalorian season 4 could manage that before giving Fett a role in Dave Filoni's planned Star Wars movie (he'd no doubt be key in helping turn the tide against Grand Admiral Thrawn).

The Book of Boba Fett, a thrilling Star Wars adventure teased in a surprise end-credit sequence following the Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.
