THE BOYS Star Karl Urban Laughs Off THE MANDALORIAN Rumors And Shares Promising STAR TREK 4 Update

For whatever reason, there was a period when we kept hearing rumours Lucasfilm planned to recast The Mandalorian's lead. There were a lot of nonsense claims Pedro Pascal was unhappy about being beneath the bounty hunter's helmet, with the assumption being that he wanted more face time.

This may have passed you by, but believe it or not, it was also reported at one time that The Boys star Karl Urban had been tapped to replace Pascal as Din Djarin in the Disney+ series. That makes no sense, of course, and it was the first Urban heard of it when Radio X mentioned it to him.

"This is news to me," he said with a laugh. "Isn't that like, 'Oh, who do we know that can work under a helmet? Oh I know, let's get Karl Urban, he did Dredd!' You know, it's like, come on guys, no."

It would be no bad thing to see Urban head into a Galaxy Far, Far Away, but he has another cosmic franchise to return to with Star Trek. A fourth movie is still believed to be in the works, and while Paramount Pictures recently announced the movie, it's thought the cast may not have signed up yet.

"I have heard that [Star Trek 4] is happening, but I've been hearing that for the last three years. [Laughs]. Listen, all I know is that they're developing it, they're writing a script, and I know 100% that we all wanna come back and do it, so I think it's just a matter of timing and logistics at this point," the actor confirmed during the same conversation. "Where there's a will there's a way, and there's definitely a will, so we would love to come back together and make one of those."

Fingers crossed as it's been a long time coming. In recent years, the Star Trek franchise has found great success on television, but the studio is now looking to turn that goodwill into box office receipts.

We'll keep you updated as we learn more.
