Angela Lanter, the wife of The Clone Wars star Matt Lanter, has taken to Instagram to confirm that he's undergone emergency surgery. After suffering abdominal pain earlier this month, Lanter was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with a closed-loop intestinal obstruction that put him at high risk of severe complications if left untreated. As a result, he was immediately rushed into the operating room.
Thankfully, the actor is now beginning to make a recovery, though Angela has noted, "we still have an uphill battle and will continue to be in the hospital for a while longer."
In a subsequent update, she shared a photo of a frail Matt and explained, "He has experienced some setbacks after surgery but today he is feeling a little better. The [doctors] and nurses have stressed the importance of getting up and walking, so we’re slowly getting him moving more and more. Hoping for more improvement tomorrow." Clearly, he has a long road to recovery ahead.
We are pleased to hear he's on the mend, though, and we're sure you'll be familiar with Matt from his role as Anakin Skywalker in The Clone Wars animated series. He's been lending his voice to the character since 2008 and has, in some ways, become more synonymous with Anakin than even Hayden Christensen. Lanter also made a cameo appearance in The Mandalorian's first season.
In terms of other projects, Lanter is perhaps best known for Jupiter's Legacy, Timeless, and 90210.
We'll keep you updated with any further developments, but wish Matt a very speedy recovery!
