Last week's episode of The Mandalorian shocked us all when Jar Jar Binks actor Ahmed Best made his return to the Star Wars franchise as Jedi Master Kelleran Beq.

Why have we removed the "Master"? Well, while that was the title the actor's character had in the Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge game show, he's being referred to as simply a "Jedi" by Lucasfilm, suggesting the hero is a Jedi Knight rather than a member of the Jedi Council.

There's clearly plenty of story left to tell about Grogu's saviour, anyway, and Best has now been spotlighted in a social media post from the official Star Wars account in which he shares his gratitude with fans.

"Star Wars fans on social media, thank you so much for everybody who ever rocked with me!" the actor says in the video below. "I am more of a fan than I am a person in these movies, and I have always been and always will be."

"I get just as excited when every new Star Wars thing drops," Best continued. "When people show up on stage at Celebration, and I'm more of a Star Wars news junkie than anything else, so I'm right there with you, thank you! And let's keep loving this thing."

As two of the only survivors of Order 66, Beq and Grogu would have been forced to go into hiding. However, we still don't know who helped them escape and something hugely traumatic must have happened for The Child to lose his memories and end up in the hands of the Empire.

For now, that's a tale for another day.

In the meantime, you can see a new still of the Jedi in action below along with Best's message.
