In last Wednesday's episode of The Mandalorian, we were reunited with Captain Carson Teva (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee). A reluctant ally of Din Djarin's in the past, the New Republic pilot was shown receiving a distress call from Greef Karga.
It was at that stage Star Wars Rebels character Zeb - decked out in a New Republic uniform - stepped into the frame and pointed out that he had hoped Nevarro would make it. Perhaps a little disillusioned with his new status quo, he added that Coruscant hasn't answered a dispatch in weeks and wishes Teva luck...because he's going to need it.
On Coruscant, Teva soon learned that dealing with the New Republic's bureaucracy is an uphill battle, though it didn't help that Moff Gideon loyalist, Elia Kane, was there to stir the pot.
After failing to secure the necessary help, Teva was left with no other choice than to reach out to Din so he could help Karga. In the episode's closing moments, however, he discovered the broken remains of the ship that was transporting Gideon to trial, learning that a Mandalorian had seemingly assisted in his escape!
We surely haven't seen the last of Teva in The Mandalorian and the character has now received a poster of his own (and it's about damn time).
"With standout performances from Katee Sackhoff and Sun-Hyung Lee, "The Pirate" features everything fans love about Star Wars and sees filmmaker Peter Ramsey prove himself one of this franchise’s greatest directors with a masterpiece-level episode," we said in our review of the episode last week.
