As is now the norm for The Mandalorian, there has been a very vague marketing campaign for the Disney+ series and a relatively muted press tour in order to keep its biggest secrets under wraps. Critics haven't been sent screeners in advance (a stark contrast to what happened with Andor last year), meaning we'll all get to experience this one at the same time.
However, a major spoiler for the show may have inadvertently been revealed in advance by a now-deleted Facebook post from the official Star Wars page in Hong Kong.
Hyping up this week's season 3 premiere, the account shared a post that reads (translated from Chinese), "The original team is back. The Mandalorian [Din Djarin] and [Grogu] are about to embark on a new adventure! Plus the bounty hunter [Boba Fett] and other old allies and new enemies!"
This all but confirms Temuera Morrison will return as Boba Fett, though we shouldn't be too shocked.
With Din Djarin and Grogu returning to Tatooine, it's impossible to imagine them not crossing paths with Mos Espa's new Daimyo, while Fett is sure to be among those enlisted to assemble on Mandalore later in the season. We are taking this with a pinch of salt for now, of course, but we're excited to see how Boba factors into this story.
Recently, it was reported that The Book of Boba Fett season 2 is currently in development, so this appearance may well set the stage for that as well.
The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars Galaxy continue in season 3. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the Galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.
The Mandalorian season 3 premieres on March 1.
