What an episode that was, eh? Carl Weathers stepped behind the camera to direct "The Foundling," and finally offered some answers about what happened to Grogu on the night of Order 66 and who rescued him...

Up until now, The Mandalorian has only really hinted at what happened to Grogu on the night of Order 66. We've seen glimpses of a group of Jedi attempting to protect The Child from the corrupted Clone Troopers, but have no idea who got him safely off Coruscant and out of the Empire's clutches.

Well, in "The Foundling," we finally got some answers.

Taking us back to the night of Order 66, the episode showed the Jedi fighting off the Clone Troopers inside the Jedi Temple as they tried to get Grogu to "Kelleran."

After being safely moved into an elevator, he's met by Jedi Master Kelleran Beq. If that name rings a bell, it's because this is the character played by Jar Jar Binks actor Ahmed Best in the Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge game show. It appears The Mandalorian is giving the actor a second chance in the Star Wars Galaxy, though, and he does a fantastic job here.

After a perilous journey across Coruscant that sees them pursued by the Clone Troopers, Kelleran and Grogu arrive at a landing platform that's being guarded by what appear to be Naboo soldiers.

As they fight off the Clones, the duo board one of those shiny ships from the prequels and manage to escape into hyperspace. Unfortunately, that's where we leave them. In the present day, however, Grogu receives his own rondel - with the Mudhorn insignia - from The Armorer.

There's still a lot of story left to be told with Grogu. As well as that huge gap between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, we have no idea where he was during the sequel trilogy.

The Mandalorian takes place a few years after Return of the Jedi and, as far as we're aware, it wasn't until then that he landed in Moff Gideon's clutches (we also need to find out how those mercenaries captured him before the fateful day Din Djarin happened across him).

"The Foundling" offers a huge development in Grogu's story, anyway, and we cannot wait to see more from Kelleran. In the meantime, find everything you need to know about the Jedi Master here.
