In today's episode of The Mandalorian, titled "The Mines of Mandalore," Din Djarin wastes no time in making his way to the ruined planet, but finds that bathing in the Living Waters beneath its surface won't be as easy as he perhaps expected.

As he and Grogu explore what remains of their ancestral home following the Night of a Thousand Tears, Din is captured by an alien that uses a massive robotic body, with its plan to drain him of his bodily fluids (for sustenance, we're assuming). Grogu manages to evade the monster and escapes, giving the tiny Force wielder the chance to shine.

While piloting his cradle back to their N-1 starfighter, Grogu makes short work of one of the other aliens now inhabiting Mandalore and uses the ship to return to Bo-Katan Kryze.

From there, we get an unexpected team-up as the duo traverses the ruins of Mandalore together.

They bond and Bo-Katan encourages Grogu to be brave so that they can save his father. The warrior also reflects on the time she spent fighting alongside the Jedi and alludes to the events of The Clone Wars

Eventually, they find Din and it's then Bo-Katan gets her moment to shine. Wielding the Darksaber, she shows us how it's done and makes a good case for why she should be the one to hold it. Yes, we'd all like to see Din emerge as Mandalore's rightful leader, but he proves earlier in the episode that he's struggling to master the weapon and, for Bo-Katan, it seems effortless.

She kills his captor, anyway, and promises to take her fellow Mandalorian to the Living Waters.

We'll get to that in a separate breakdown - you can find it by clicking here - but "The Mines of Mandalore" ends up being a real showcase for Bo-Katan and one that leaves us keen for a spin-off series...
