THE MANDALORIAN: Jon Favreau Says Seasons 1 And 2 Take Place "Over Many Years"

The Mandalorian executive producer Jon Favreau has confirmed that the first two seasons of the Disney+ show take place over "many years," which... doesn't really make a whole lot of sense!

The third season of The Mandalorian premieres tomorrow, and the cast and crew have been taking part in roundtable interviews to promote the return of the Disney+ Star Wars series.

In one such interview, executive producer/writer Jon Favreau shared a very interesting detail about the show's timeline, and it's left fans more than a little confused... to say the least!

The filmmaker reveals that the first two seasons of The Mandalorian take place "over many years," and that Grogu was supposed to have been with Luke for two years before being reunited with Din Djarin during the events of The Book of Boba Fett.

Okay... what?

It was generally assumed that the first two seasons - and Boba Fett - played out over a few months, because the shows never gave us any indication that they didn't!

If you think about what transpired over the course of those three seasons of TV, this simply doesn't make sense. Are we to believe that Mando was just wandering around the galaxy without a ship for two years, for example? Or Boba and Fennec Shand spent years living a nomadic life on Tatooine prior to infiltrating Jabba's palace?

Apparently so!
