We're just weeks away from The Mandalorian's return, and Lucasfilm definitely isn't giving too much away about the Disney+ series. It's become the norm for the show to be shrouded in secrecy, of course, but a brief new TV spot drops at least one big hint about what Star Wars fans can expect.
There are a couple of new snippets to be found here, but it's a shot of Jon Favreau's returning Paz Vizsla which immediately grabs our attention.
As well as unleashing the full might of his massive heavy blaster, the Mandalorian is shown surrounded by a good two dozen of his fellow masked warriors. We've heard that season 3 will feature a lot of Mandalorians and those reports clearly weren't exaggerating if what we see here is any indication; they're a colourful bunch too and clearly hail from across the entire Galaxy.
What's led to them assembling? That remains to be seen, though we can't help but wonder if they're all rallying behind Din Djarin as he looks to reclaim Mandalore as its new leader.
The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars Galaxy continue in season 3. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the Galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.
The series stars Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Emily Swallow and Giancarlo Esposito. The directors of the eight-episode season 3 include Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey, and Bryce Dallas Howard.
Favreau is the showrunner/head writer and serves as an executive producer along with Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist and Carrie Beck are co-executive producers.
The Mandalorian season 3 premieres on March 1.
