THE MANDALORIAN: Returning STAR WARS Actor Breaks Silence In Surprise Cameo In Emotional Social Media Post

In yesterday's episode of The Mandalorian, titled "The Foundling," we finally learned more about what happened to Grogu on the night of Order 66. Fans have previously speculated that everyone from Anakin Skywalker to Mace Windu saved The Child, but in a cameo no one saw coming, we learned it was, in fact, Jedi Master Kelleran Beq.

Played by Jar Jar Binks actor Ahmed Best, Beq - who first appeared on the Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge game show - proved himself a lightsaber-wielding badass, giving The Phantom Menace star some measure of redemption.

After all, Best unfairly received a lot of hate from "fans" for his role in the Star Wars prequels, so making him the Jedi who saved Grogu...well, that's a fantastic move on Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni's part. Now, the actor has broken his silence in an emotional Instagram post.

"Gratitude! Good to be back," Best says. "There is so much to say and share. It's going to take a couple of days. But, for now, I’ll just say thank you to all that have held me up and made me better."

There's clearly still a lot of story left to tell with Kelleran and Grogu, especially when decades passed between the events of Revenge of the Sith and the fateful day Din Djarin first encountered The Child in The Mandalorian's first episode.

Throughout season 3, there have been strong indications that Grogu will soon start talking - his attempt to say "This is The Way" last week melted all our hearts - so he may eventually be able to shed more light on what happened. However, we know there are gaps in his memory, so it could be a while before the next part of this specific story is told.
