A new trailer for The Mandalorian season 3 was released earlier this week (take a look at our breakdown by clicking here), but the version currently found on Disney+ is a little different.
Around the 1:00 mark, the "On March 1" shot is replaced with a scene featuring a downed Star Destroyer on Coruscant. As you can tell from a screenshot in the Reddit post below, it's hard to say exactly what context it's being shown in, though the ship does appear to be in a state of disrepair.
With The Mandalorian taking place five years after the events of Return of the Jedi, there's a lot of excitement to see what's become of the planet in the wake of Emperor Palpatine's demise. Colin Trevorrow had planned to reveal that the Jedi Temple was a refuge for former Stormtroopers in his version of Episode IX, with the First Order having regained control of Coruscant.
We're not sure what this series has planned, but a return to the planet is long overdue, and it's apparent the Empire still has some sort of presence there...even if it's just with their downed vessels!

In season 3, the journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars Galaxy continue. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.
The series stars Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Emily Swallow, and Giancarlo Esposito.
It's also been confirmed that The Mandalorian's directing team will be comprised of Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey, and Bryce Dallas Howard, a mixture of newcomers and returning fan-favourites we're sure have heaps of exciting ideas for this corner of the Galaxy Far, Far Away.
The Mandalorian season 3 premieres on Disney+ on March 1.
