The Armorer has quickly emerged as a firm fan favourite among fans of The Mandalorian, and when we last saw her, she was following Bo-Katan Kryze's lead on a reformed Mandalore.

That came as a surprise to many fans, of course, as the prevailing theory online was that she would betray Din Djarin by revealing she'd been in cahoots with Moff Gideon this whole time. It was a compelling suggestion, albeit one we're pleased didn't pan out given how much fun spending time with The Armorer has proven to be.

Actress Emily Swallow recently caught up with The Direct and was asked whether she's heard anything about plans for the clan leader to return in The Mandalorian's planned fourth season.

"I honestly don't know. I really hope so, but I have no specifics about what direction this next season is going off into," the actress says. "I love the Armorer so much, and I love especially this last season that she and [Bo-Katan] sort of defied expectations in working together and I love that."

"I love that both of them were willing to sort of look outside these very strongly held beliefs that they've had to see what was gonna benefit the Mandalorian people as a whole, and to take a chance, to take a big risk, because for either of them, they could have lost the respect of their factions by aligning with the other."

"And I would love to see more of how this new combined Mandalorian society plays out," Swallow continues. "Of course, I always want to know, like, 'Well what else is the Armorer up to? What does she do when she's not having to now drag her forge to different planets all the time, now that she sort of has a home base?'"

After suggesting The Armorer's backstory, her connection with Grogu, and the possible introduction of an apprentice are all ideas which could be on the table, The Mandalorian star offered a pretty strong argument for why we're likely to see her helmeted warrior again.

"I feel like it's been established now that the Armorer is always integral to whatever Din Djarin is doing," Swallows notes. "I feel like he has to check in with her from time to time, so I feel like we should see her, but I have no certain verification that we will."

We're confident The Armorer will return, though what role, if any, she'll play in the wider Star Wars franchise moving forward remains to be seen. As for The Mandalorian season 4, production is expected to begin next year for a possible late 2024/early 2025 launch on Disney+.
