In The Mandalorian season 3, Katee Sackhoff returned as Bo-Katan Kryze, a character she first played in The Clone Wars animated TV series. It was there we saw Bo-Katan meet the young Ahsoka Tano, and with both characters now in live-action, a reunion can't be too far off, right?
Talking to The Direct, Sackhoff shared her belief that the former allies will eventually be reunited.
"Yeah. I mean, I can't imagine that they wouldn't at some point," the actress confessed. "But, you know, again, I have no idea. You know, I have absolutely no idea. They don't tell me anything until I show up at work with my script in hand."
The site also asked Sackhoff for her thoughts on Sabine Wren's transformation into a Jedi in Ahsoka, a startling new status quo which has given the Star Wars franchise a true Jedi Mandalorian.
"I think that Bo has always worked side by side with the Jedi and the Mandalorian people," she pondered. "And I think that she sees the benefit of the two groups working together. And I think that she would, she would probably think nothing of it other than, 'Wow, that's pretty wonderful. Good for you.'"
Sackhoff has already strongly hinted that she'll return as Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian season 4, but what about beyond that? We know Dave Filoni plans to bring many of these Disney+ characters together for his eventual Star Wars movie, with the prevailing opinion being that it will adapt Timothy Zahn's "Heir to the Empire" story.
Asked what Bo-Katan could bring to the table there, she says, "Well, I think that the Mandalorian people have a lot of rebuilding to do. But I think that the Mandalorians have always been a phenomenal military asset. So, I don't know. She's always been incredibly strategic and methodical. So I think that those skills could be useful. But you never know."
When Ahsoka concluded, the title character and Sabine Wren were left stranded in a strange Galaxy on a planet named Peridea. Grand Admiral Thrawn, meanwhile, had returned to the main Galaxy with The Great Mothers alongside him; they were last seen travelling to seemingly Dathomir to resurrect what many fans believe will be an army of undead Nightsisters.
With Ahsoka season 2 expected to be released before Filoni's untitled movie, there's plenty of time for Bo-Katan and her Jedi friends to cross paths again. And, as the actress says, Mandalore being a key asset in the fight against Thrawn seems like a logical place to take this story.
