THE MANDALORIAN Will Have Its Own Star Wars Celebration Panel With Details On The Franchise's Future

Disney+ launched with The Mandalorian and it took no time at all to realise the series would live up to the hype. Over the past couple of years, it's established itself as the best thing to come out of the Disney era of Lucasfilm, and the excitement for the show's upcoming third season is high.

While The Mandalorian will be part of the panel looking ahead to the Star Wars TV shows coming to Disney+ in 2022, Lucasfilm has now announced the series will have its own panel as well.

"The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau and executive producer Dave Filoni will make their first Star Wars Celebration appearance since the premiere of the Disney+ series," it reads. "The panel, called 'Mando+: A Conversation with Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni,' will take place Saturday, May 28, and feature the duo along with special guests for a look back and a look ahead at what’s to come."

That "look ahead" is obviously what grabs our attention, and even if a first look has premiered before this point, something tells us we'll be getting news on what the future holds in store. Some fans wondered if season 3 might be The Mandalorian's last after Din Djarin handed Grogu over to Luke Skywalker, but now they've been reunited, it's clear there are still plenty of stories to tell.

The focus of The Mandalorian is expected to shift to Mandalore when the show returns, but we've also heard rumblings about an eventual crossover that would also encompass Ahsoka and the now-cancelled Rangers of the New Republic. Hopefully, there are plans to continue exploring this corner of a Galaxy Far, Far Away for years to come, and that's something this panel could make clear.

Star Wars Celebration takes place between May 26 - 29, 2022 in Anaheim, California.
