Is "holy sh*t!" an appropriate response to today's episode of The Mandalorian? Considering the fact the series just introduced a Star Wars Rebels character in live-action, we'd say so! Here's a closer look...

There's a huge amount of excitement for Ahsoka, particularly among Star Wars Rebels fans. Bringing many of that show's characters into live-action, it's been revealed that the series will feature Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren and, while not confirmed, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla.

However, there's been no mention of Garazeb Orrelios, a.k.a Zeb.

Voiced by Steve Blum in the animated series, he was a Lasat Rebel who manned the Ghost. Prior to joining the Rebelliion, Zeb was a Captain of the Lasan Honor Guard and later grew close with Ezra.

When we last saw him, he was shown alongside former Imperial Kallus, with the enemies turned friends heading to Lira San so Kallus could see he did not extinguish the entire Lasat race while serving the Empire.

In today's episode of The Mandalorian, titled "The Pirate," we get one of the show's most jaw-dropping reveals yet with Zeb's live-action debut!

After Captain Carson Teva receives a message from Greef Karga, Zeb - decked out in a New Republic uniform - steps into the frame and points out that he had hoped Nevarro would make it. Perhaps a little disillusioned, he adds that Coruscant hasn't answered a dispatch in weeks and wishes Teva luck...because he's going to need it.

Is the former Rebel perhaps a little disappointed with the bureaucracy that comes with fighting the good fight these days? We can only speculate but have a feeling this plot thread will be picked up in Ahsoka

As you can see below, it seems Zeb is brought to life through a mixture of practical and visual effects, though that is Blum once again lending his voice to the hero (he really wouldn't be the same otherwise).

We don't necessarily anticipate seeing the character again in The Mandalorian, but this is clearly setting the stage for Zeb to be part of Ahsoka, and that series really can't get here soon enough.
