At April 2023's Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy announced a new movie directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Daisy Ridley will return as Rey, playing the 'Last Jedi' that's looking to establish a new Jedi Order 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker.

Sources suggest Rey's role may be similar to that of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker in previous trilogies. George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau) is penning the screenplay.

While unconfirmed, it's expected that other characters from the third Star Wars trilogy will also appear in the film.

Recently, while interacting with fans and signing autographs, Oscaar Isaac was asked if he would be appearing in the new "Rey Skywalker" movie. You can check out Isaac's response below.

As you can see, don't expect to see Poe's X-Wing taking out TIE fighters in the upcoming Rise of Skywalker sequel, although things could always change by the time cameras actually start rolling.

The more likely place for Dameron to show up would be in Star Wars: Starfighter, which takes place 5-6 years after The Rise of Resistance and reportedly follows a 15-year-old teen on a mysterious mission with his Starfighter-pilot uncle, played by Ryan Gosling.

Ruling out Force Ghosts, with Dameron seemingly out, that leaves John Boyega's Finn, Chewbacca. R2D2, BB-8, and C-3PO as characters from the latest trilogy that could appear in Rey's new film.
