David Tennant will return to Doctor Who later this year, but it's only going to be a brief stint before his Fourteenth Doctor regenerates into Ncuti Gatwa.
However, every Doctor needs their own Sonic Screwdriver and Tennant's has been revealed at San Diego Comic-Con. As you can see below, it will soon be available to purchase, while a teaser video showcases its inner workings and a very cool blue glow which is akin to the Tenth Doctor's Screwdriver (also played by Tennant).
It's probably going to be a while before Gatwa's own version of the iconic gadget debuts, but we're sure many Doctor Who fans will fall in love with this design.
The Sonic Screwdriver first debuted in 1968's Doctor Who episode "Fury from the Deep" featuring Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor. It's remained a constant ever since in the character's adventures, getting the time-traveller and his/her companions out of many scrapes.
Tennant will take centre stage this holiday season over the course of three specials titled "The Star Beast," "Wild Blue Yonder," and "The Giggle."
In those, the actor reprises perhaps his most famous role, albeit as the Fourteenth Doctor this time around. He'll also be joined by Catherine Tate's Donna Noble, a companion we never expected to return given the dire consequences which come with them being face-to-face.
Joining them are Neil Patrick Harris as a villain thought to be The Toymaker, Yasmin Finney as Rose (which, as you might expect, has generated a lot of speculation online), Jacqueline King as Sylvia Noble, Karl Collins as Shaun Temple, Ruth Madeley as Shirley Anne Bingham, and the late Bernard Cribbins as Wilfred Mott.
