It's October 23 which means today is "Fallout Day," and Prime Video has confirmed (via GameFragger.com) that the upcoming Fallout TV series will premiere on April 12, 2024. It's been a while since we've heard anything about the show but there have been a handful of teasers and excitement among fans has never died down.

In a teaser inspired by one of the long-running video game series' Pip-Boys, we simply get the date reveal and not much else...with any luck, however, a trailer with actual footage from the show is heading our way in the not-too-distant future.

Walton Goggins (The Shield) takes on the lead role in a series which is set in a post-apocalyptic 2077 where people must live in underground bunkers to protect themselves from radiation, mutants, and bandits after nuclear annihilation. Now confirmed to be part of the gaming franchise's official canon, this TV show will begin in Vault 33 as Goggins' character ventures outside for the first time.

As for the show's setting, we'll be heading to a barren Los Angeles for this particular adventure. That promises to be a lot of fun and, with video game adaptations finding success lately (see: The Last of Us), we're keeping everything crossed this effort doesn't underwhelm.

Alongside Goggins, Fallout stars Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets), Aaron Moten (Emancipation), Moisés Arias (The King of Staten Island), Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Sarita Choudhury (Homeland), Michael Emerson (Person of Interest), Leslie Uggams (Deadpool), Frances Turner (The Boys), Dave Register (Heightened), Zach Cherry (Severance), Johnny Pemberton (Ant-Man), Rodrigo Luzzi (Dead Ringers), Annabel O’Hagan (Law & Order: SVU), and Xelia Mendes-Jones (The Wheel of Time).

Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner serve as executive producers, writers and co-showrunners. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy also executive produce, with Todd Howard for Bethesda Game Studios and James Altman for Bethesda Softworks taking on the same role.

Nolan directed the first three episodes of the series and, given his history with Westworld, we know he has a solid grasp on high-concept sci-fi.
