The second season of Loki, Marvel Studios' most directly sci-fi inspired project to date, premieres this Thursday on Disney+, and the social media reactions (via ComicBookMovie.com) for the first four (of six) episodes of the time-bending series has now lifted .
Things pick up right where we left off in the season 1 finale, with the God of Mischief desperately trying to warn a Mobius from a completely different timeline about the impending arrival of He Who Remains' far more dangerous Variants.
Without giving too much away, the story doesn't progress exactly as you might expect, with the fallout of Sylvie's murder of the Kang Variant taking a backseat (initially, at least) to a more immediately pressing problem for Loki and the TVA.
Personally, I was a tad disappointed by these first 4 eps, which I didn't feel lived up to the brilliance of the debut season. However, the majority of reactions were quite a bit more positive, with many hailing Loki's return as the best MCU Disney+ series we've seen in a long time (yes, some do tend to say that about every new Disney+ show).
Have a read through the Tweets below, keep an eye on Rotten Tomatoes as the first full reviews start to roll in (the early score tells a slightly different story than the mostly glowing social media reactions).
