Deadline reports that Jenny Klein has signed an overall deal for television content with Entertainment One that will see her develop a number of projects, including the Power Rangers series currently in the works for Netflix. Jonathan Entwistle is overseeing the property under a deal he signed with eOne back in 2020, so the expectation is that he and Klein will work closely together.

"Building this partnership with Jenny, whose talent and passion transcends genres, is an exciting moment for us. We believe that her distinctive vision makes her the perfect fit to help us develop Hasbro’s deep library of IP, as well as original projects, and we’re thrilled to have her on board," Gabe Marano, EVP, Scripted Television, US, eOne, said in a statement today.

"eOne is an impressively versatile home to develop original content, and with its incredible toy box to dig into, it’s such an exciting place to be," Klein added. "I couldn’t feel prouder to bring its beloved IP to viewers."

After that unsuccessful big screen reboot, Power Rangers fans are optimistic that the franchise can find new life on Netflix. The streamer's plan looks set to encompass not only this show, but movies and kids' programming, so eOne is clearly going all in with its efforts to tap into the immense popularity of this property.

Klein co-created, executive produced, and served as showrunner on hit NBC series The Thing About Pam, while her past writing and producing credits include the likes of The Witcher, Cloak and Dagger, Jessica Jones, and Supernatural. In other words, she should be a fantastic fit to put a fresh spin on Power Rangers and certainly has more than enough geek cred behind her.

It feels like this show is probably still a long way off, but Klein boarding as showrunner hopefully means we're getting some concrete updates sooner rather than later.
