HOUSE OF THE DRAGON: Fire Reigns In Final Trailer For HBO's GAME OF THRONES Prequel Series

Ahead of this Sunday's premiere, HBO has debuted one final promo for House of the Dragon, and it features plenty of new footage of the titular beasts in action as they reign fire over Westeros.

Fire will reign this Sunday when the first episode of House of the Dragon premieres on HBO, and we have one final promo for the Game of Thrones prequel series for you guys to take a look at.

It's a little shorter than the previous trailers, but it is comprised almost entirely of new footage, as we witness the beginning of the end of the mighty House Targaryen when the seeds of civil war are sewn.

Reactions to the first two episodes were mostly very positive, though the show is said to be very different to its predecessor. HBO has done a good job of keeping spoilers under wraps, but A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin did reveal that viewers should prepare themselves for a Red Wedding-style sequence in the premiere.

Check out the video below, and let us know if you're looking forward to House of the Dragon in the usual place.

"The prequel series finds the Targaryen dynasty at the absolute apex of its power, with more than 15 dragons under their yoke. Most empires—real and imagined—crumble from such heights. In the case of the Targaryens, their slow fall begins almost 193 years before the events of Game of Thrones, when King Viserys Targaryen breaks with a century of tradition by naming his daughter Rhaenyra heir to the Iron Throne. But when Viserys later fathers a son, the court is shocked when Rhaenyra retains her status as his heir, and seeds of division sow friction across the realm."

House of the Dragon stars Paddy Considine (Peaky Blinders) as King Viserys Targaryen, Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One) as Alicent Hightower, Emma D’Arcy (Wanderlust) as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Matt Smith (Doctor Who) as Prince Daemon Targaryen. The show is set to premiere on August 21.
