Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will see Chris Pine's Edgin the Bard as part of a group looking to uncover long-lost answers about a mystery from the past.

In this first clip from the movie, he attempts to communicate with a dead soldier who can provide them with some insights into what happened during a battle that could be key to the answers they seek. Unfortunately, talking with the dead isn't as easy as it might appear!

This group learns that when they figure out that, when you can ask only five questions, you really need to choose your words wisely.

It's a very funny exchange and one that suggests the humour in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is going to have the sort of mass appeal that can make this take on the property a hit.

While fans have had their reservations about the movie, it looks like a genuinely fun time based on this latest sneak peek and clearly isn't taking itself too seriously. There probably is a version of Dungeons & Dragons that's a full-blown fantasy blockbuster in the vein of The Lord of the Rings, but this take looks far more commercially friendly.

In the movie, a charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people.

The impressive cast includes Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure, and it arrives in theaters on March 31, 2023.
