Warner Bros. has confirmed that the next trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will be released this Thursday, and the studio is doubling down on those Harry Potter references.
After the tepid response to the last movie, we probably shouldn't be surprised. As you can see below, it turns out that Harry's version of "Dumbledore's Army" was the first iteration of that group, and there's quite the eclectic group of wizards - and creatures - to be found on the posters. We also get a look at some of the new additions to the franchise, including Richard Coyle's Aberforth Dumbledore.
If we're being honest, though, it's Teddy who we've fallen in love with after seeing these posters!
However, things take a slightly more sinister turn on a second round of posters that highlight the movie's villains, led by Mads Mikkelsen's Gellert Gridelwald. Has Queenie truly fallen into darkness?
"Professor Albus Dumbledore knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is moving to seize control of the wizarding world," reads the official synopsis for this third instalment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise. "Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?"
The movie stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Jude Law, Mads Mikkelsen, Jessica Williams, Victoria Yeates, William Nadylam, Richard Coyle, Poppy Corby-Tuech, Aleksandr Kuznetsov, and Callum Turner. David Yates returns to direct the movie from a screenplay written by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and Steve Kloves.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is set to be released in theaters on April 15, 2022.
