RED SONJA: Here's When The First Trailer For Millennium Media's Reboot Will Be Released

There's a lot of intrigue surrounding Millennium Media's planned reboot of Red Sonja, and we have news on when the first trailer for the movie will debut (and it's arriving right in time for Comic-Con).

While most major studios have decided to give this month's San Diego Comic-Con a miss (a decision largely taken out of their hands by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes), there's still a fair bit to look forward to.

A panel focusing on the Dune and Godzilla vs. Kong sequels may have been cancelled, but Dynamite has confirmed they will be there to celebrate 50 fantastic years of Red Sonja

In addition to a retrospective discussion on the character's legacy and past, her future will be looked to with new comics, novels, as well as an exclusive teaser trailer debut for her upcoming blockbuster Millennium Media film starring Matilda Lutz. Needless to say, the cast will not be in attendance.

The panel is going to be held on Friday, July 21 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm local San Diego time in room 5AB.

Red Sonja, LLC president, executive editor, and producer of the coming film Luke Lieberman will serve as panel moderator, joined by franchise contributors Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Conner, Amy Chu, Dan Panosian, producer Mark Canton, and other guests.

According to a press release, "Attendees of the panel will be the first to see a teaser trailer of the upcoming highly anticipated Millennium Media (Expend4bles) film starring Matilda Lutz (Revenge, Rings, Medici) as the fearsome warrior, Wallis Day (Sex/Life, Batwoman) as Annisia, and Robert Sheehan (The Umbrella Academy, Misfits) as Draygan with M.J. Bassett (Solomon Kane) directing and a script written by Tasha Huo (Netflix’s Tomb Raider)."

We're assuming this will be released online around the same time, especially as it's going to be hard to stop fans from pirating the preview in a room like 5AB (which isn't quite as tight on security as Hall H).

The beloved She-Devil With a Sword's story began in comics in 1973, and now 50 years later she remains the greatest sword-and-sorcery female heroine of them all.

She's hacked and slashed her way into the hearts of fantasy and comics fans all around the world. An incredible range of writers and artists have taken on her stories in her native comics medium, including the likes of Roy Thomas, Frank Thorne, Gail Simone, Mirka Andolfo, Mike Carey, Michael Avon Oeming, Jim Zub, Louise Simonson, Mark Russell, Alex Ross, Mel Rubi, and countless more.

The Red Sonja movie doesn't currently have a confirmed release date.

I think I'm this case a more statuesque actress would have been better. But I have no knowledge of Matilda Lutz so I just have to hope she projects a ferocity becoming of the title character.
