Disney's live-action remake of Snow White has proven more divisive than we could have ever imagined, with a few recent rumours going so far as to claim lead star Rachel Zegler has been fired and the movie itself scrapped. That's not true, and while the project is still dividing opinions, it is heading our way next year.

Now, we have an update about the first teaser trailer as World of Reel (via Toonado.com) is reporting that it's done, ready to go, and likely to play in front of Disney Animation's Wish next month.

That arrives in theaters on November 22 (with early screenings beginning on November 18). With that in mind, we expect this Snow White preview to be released online sometime during the week beginning November 12.

Will the footage change any minds? Test screenings have reportedly gone well so we'd say it's possible. For many, though, they've already decided the movie isn't worth their time, so expect to see plenty of complaints on social media.

We'd anticipated Disney's live-action Snow White movie to be another potentially very good remake from the studio, but little could any of us have known it would end up being so massively controversial (and not just on social media; even mainstream news outlets have chimed in).

From the decision to scrap the Seven Dwarfs to resurfaced comments from lead star Rachel Zegler in which the Shazam! Fury of the Gods and West Side Story star compared Prince Florian to a "stalker," there's not a lot of goodwill for the movie.

Inevitably, some are hating on Snow White very much for the sake of it (and, deplorably, because Zegler is of Latina descent). However, it's easy enough to understand why some fans of the 1937 animated classic aren't exactly thrilled by the chance made in the reboot.

In terms of official details, very little has been revealed about director Marc Webb's (The Amazing Spider-ManSnow White plans, though we know the screenplay was written by Barbie director Greta Gerwig and playwright Erin Cressida Wilson.

In terms of cast, the movie stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White, Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman, Martin Klebba as Grumpy, and Andrew Burnap as Jonathan. As this won't be an overly faithful adaptation of the cartoon, hence why many familiar names are missing from that list.

Providing there are no delays caused by the SAG-AFTRA strike, Snow White is still scheduled to be released on March 22, 2024.
