Total Film magazine has opened up a world of pure imagination with its latest covers, which give us a new look at Timothée Chalamet as the younger take on the legendary Willy Wonka from Paddington director Paul King's upcoming origin story.

Both covers feature the same image of the Dune: Part 2 star as the dapper chocolatier, but the subscriber-exclusive version puts a tasty treat in the background.

Based on the extraordinary character at the centre of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl’s most iconic tale and one of the best-selling children’s books of all time, Wonka tells the wondrous story of how the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate-maker became the beloved Willy Wonka we know today.

From Paul King, writer/director of the Paddington films, David Heyman, producer of Harry Potter, Gravity, Fantastic Beasts and Paddington, and producers Alexandra Derbyshire (the Paddington films, Jurassic World: Dominion) and Luke Kelly (Roald Dahl’s The Witches), comes an intoxicating mix of magic and music, mayhem and emotion, all told with fabulous heart and humor.

The first trailer for Wonka drew something of a mixed response, especially from fans of the original musical starring Gene Wilder, but with King at the helm, we're certainly willing to see what Warner Bros. is able to deliver.

Check out the covers at the link below along with the teaser, and let us know what you think in the comments section.

The official synopsis reads: "This irresistibly vivid and inventive big screen spectacle will introduce audiences to a young Willy Wonka, chock-full of ideas and determined to change the world one delectable bite at a time—proving that the best things in life begin with a dream, and if you’re lucky enough to meet Willy Wonka, anything is possible."

The supporting cast includes Hugh Grant, Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter, Olivia Colman, Natasha Rothwell, Rich Fulcher, Rakhee Thakrar, Tom Davis, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith.

Simon Farnaby (Paddington 2) penned the screenplay along with King. The movie is based on a story by King and characters created by Roald Dahl. Wonka arrives in theaters on December 15.
