If you were upset about some of the changes to the source material in The Wheel of Time season 1, this new clip from season 2 looks like a near-perfect recreation of what was described in the books.
In the footage, Nynaeve is preparing to take her Accepted test in the White Tower of Tar Valon. In order to become an Aes Sedai, students at the White Tower enter as Novices before taking a ter'angreal-powered exam to become Accepted. Once they complete all the requirements of the Accepted rank, they become Aes Sedai.
In the novels, Nynaeve is so strong in the One Power that she skips over being a Novice and goes right into taking the test to become an Accepted.
In the scene, Nynaeve asks, “What do they do?”
Liandrin responds, “Many things, child. They are from before the breaking. Made during a time when women could create objects from the One Power itself.”
We see Nynaeve in a medium shot as she listens to Liandrin continue, “Some Ter’angreal are made to work by Aes Sedai, like this one. Others do what they do simply with the presence of any woman who can channel.”
Shortly thereafter, Nynaeve learns that if she starts the test and fails, she'll be put out of the White Tower, forever.
However, the former Two Rivers Wisdom doesn't shy away and declares that she's ready to proceed.
Season 2 of The Wheel of Time will drop 3 episodes at once when it premieres on September 1, on Prime Video.
The lives of five young villagers change forever when a strange and powerful woman arrives, claiming one of them is the child of an ancient prophecy with the power to tip the balance between Light and Dark forever. They must choose whether to trust this stranger – and each other – with the fate of the world before the Dark One breaks out of His prison, and the Last Battle begins.
