The season 3 premiere of Prime Video's The Wheel of Time is right around the corner and showrunner Rafe Judkins has recently revealed some news that should definitely please fans of the Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson fantasy epic.

Speaking to Radio Times, Judkins teased that season 3 is a more faithful adaptation of its corresponding book, when compared to the first two season of the show.

The first two seasons of the Amazon Prime Video fantasy adaptation have covered the first three books and a small portion of the fourth (The Eye of the World, The Great Hunt, The Dragon Reborn, and a portion of The Shadow Rising).

However, there's definitely a sizable amount of original material added to the first two seasons, which when combined with characters and plot threads that have been cut, creates an adaptation that diehard fans of the novels are less than pleased with.

But it sounds as if things are about change.

"This season in a lot of ways I think, it's the closest adaptation of one of the books that we've had so far," teased Judkins.

He added, "We get to put up some of my favorite scenes from the books.  Some of them are huge, like Rand declaring himself Car'a'carn in the Aiel Waste and some of them are small. There's this really intimate little scene with Matt and Siuan the Amarin seat, where he has to turn over the Horn of Valere to her that's just beautiful in the books."

"So we get to do some things big and some things small that are really from the books this season and follows the story lines pretty closely."

The Wheel of Time season 3 will begin streaming on Prime Video, March 13.

Speaking to the crowd at a past New York Comic Con, Judkins stated, "Every season, we sit down in the writers room and one of the things that we do at the very beginning is pick out a couple of the stories that we have to carve out a space to make a whole episode for."

He continued, "We think it’s worth it because those stories will really stand out to an audience, especially that didn’t read the books. They’re given that time, and it’s carved out, so they can really follow that character on that journey."

More interestingly, Judkins divulged, "The first season was more of the group journey that had the one big Moraine episode, but for seasons two and three, we’ve really carved out two episodes of season that can really be devoted characters.  This season was a really big Egweyne and Nynaeve season for us. Next season is a really big Rand [and] Perrison season for us. There are always different characters who are rising in importance."
