It's been a while since we had any updates on Disney's small-screen plans for Willow, but a new casting addition has now been revealed in the form of Rosabell Laurenti Sellers.
Deadline reports that the American-Italian actress, best known for playing the lethal Tyene Sand on HBO's Game of Thrones, has joined the Disney+ series in a recurring role. Her character is not named, but is said to be "resourceful with sharp, acerbic wit." Sellers joins previously announced leads Ellie Bamber, Tony Revolori, Cailee Spaeny and Erin Kellyman.
Specific plot details are still under wraps, but the series is said to revolve around "a group on a mission to save a kidnapped prince." Bamber will play Dove, who's described as "an unassuming kitchen maid who proves that she is the chosen one” as she embarks on the journey. Spaeny will join her as Kit, "the princess whose twin brother was abducted. She is destined to be a leader and ultimately the queen." Finally, Kellyman's Jade is "a servant who is Kit’s best friend and moral compass. She is on her way to becoming the best young warrior in the kingdom."
Warwick Davis (Star Wars) is set to reprise the title role of Willow Ufgood, with Jonathan Kasdan (Solo), who also wrote the pilot, and Wendy Mericle (Arrow) serving as showrunners. Ron Howard will executive produce.
No premiere date has been announced.
