EA Motive has released the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming remake of the classic survival-horror video game, Dead Space, which originally released back in 2008 for seventh generation consoles and PC.

The iconic science-fiction game takes place in a mining spaceship that's overrun with ghastly monsters called Necromorphs. The player, as space engineer Isaac Clarke, must traverse the ship gathering ammo and solving environmental puzzles.

It seems that the upcoming remake will be largely faithful to the original, albeit with some key differences. For instance, while Isaac Clarke didn't speak in the 2008 game, he did in later instalments, and it seems he will in the remake. Perhaps there will be an option to turn off dialogue like in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga for those that want a more immersive and classic experience.

This new gameplay trailer shows off some memorable locations, weapons, and altercations for those that played the original — such as the Isaac's Plasma Cutter and the Stasis ability.

The Dead Space remake will be released on January 27th, 2023 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
