Chris Evans bid farewell to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with 2019's Avengers: Endgame. The actor played Captain America for close to a decade, and while the hope is that he'll reprise the role of Steve Rogers at some point, Evans is currently shaking up his career with some very different roles.
He's played a despicable a**hole in Rian Johnson's Knives Out, made a surprise appearance in Free Guy, and most recently lent his voice to Buzz in Pixar's Lightyear.
Ahead of a villainous turn in The Gray Man for the Russo Brothers, MTV News caught up with the actor to discuss where his career could be heading next and learned he would be open to heading into a Galaxy Far, Far Away. "God, would I love to be in Star Wars! I mean I would do anything," Evans enthused. "Even if I was just a stormtrooper, I'd be thrilled."
"Yeah, I'll take a Wookie though, that's fine. Just put me in. I'll do it. I'll take it."
Despite spending a huge chunk of his career in the MCU, the former Captain America clearly isn't against the idea of taking on another blockbuster role. It would be a blast seeing him take a crack at Star Wars, and whether it's a hero or villain, there's no doubt a lot he could bring to this franchise whether it's on the big or small screen.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is developing a Star Wars movie for Lucasfilm, while Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi is also set to take the helm of a separate big screen project. With that in mind, there could be ample opportunities for Evans in this iconic Galaxy.
