Actress Charlize Theron has confirmed that she's portraying Cirice in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, although she hasn't filmed any scenes yet.

"I haven't yet," replied Theron when asked about what it was like to shoot on The Odyssey set. Despite the production being underway for a number of weeks, Theron revealed that she hasn't shot anything yet.

The Old Guard 2 star went on to share that she'll be leaving in a couple of weeks to start filming and added, "It's super intimidating, I'm kind of the last one to show up.I'll be the new kid on the block and everybody will know what they're doing and not me."

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey reimagines Homer’s classic which follows Odysseus as he struggles to return home after the fall of Troy, a quest that stretches across ten arduous years filled with fantastical creatures, divine interventions, and tragic losses. While he fights to survive across distant lands and treacherous seas, his kingdom faces turmoil: in Ithaca, Queen Penelope and their son Telemachus endure the growing threat of unruly suitors eager to seize the throne in Odysseus’s absence.

Although Universal Pictures and Christopher Nolan have yet to release an official cast list with fully confirmed roles, reliable reports and credible sources have painted a strong picture of the film’s lineup, offering a solid sense of who’s playing which character in The Odyssey.

Aside from Theron's Circe, Matt Damon will lead the impressive ensemble as Odysseus, while Tom Holland portrays his son, Telemachus and Anne Hathaway co-stars as Odysseus' wife, Penelope.

Benny Safdie is said to be portraying Agamemnon, while Lupita Nyong'o is rumored to be Clytemnestra, Agamemnon's wife.

Zendaya is reportedly portraying Athena, while Robert Pattinson is said to be playing Hermes, and Jon Bernthal is rumored for the role of Poseidon.

Other actors confirmed to appear but with no rumors or speculation about who they're playing include Mia Goth, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Samantha Morton, John Leguizamo, Corey Hawkins, Bill Irwin, Jesse Garcia, Will Yun Lee, Rafi Gavron, Shiloh Fernandez, Nick E. Tarabay, Jimmy Gonzales, Maurice Compte, Michael Vlamis, Iddo Goldberg, Josh Stewart, Cosmo Jarvis, and Ryan Hurst.

The Odyssey is set to make history as it will be the first feature film shot entirely with IMAX FILM cameras on 65mm IMAX film stock.

Rumors suggest that the teaser will likely premiere alongside Jurassic World: Rebirth, another high-profile release from Universal Pictures, which is set to hit U.S. theaters on July 2.

The Odyssey is currently set to hit theaters next summer, on July 17, 2026. It will contend against the live-action Moana movie from Disney (July 10) and Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 31).
