OBI-WAN KENOBI Star Rupert Friend Plays Coy When Asked About The Grand Inquisitor's Fate - SPOILERS

At the end of Obi-Wan Kenobi's second episode, Reva stabbed The Grand Inquisitor and seemingly killed a villain we saw die in Star Wars Rebels (which is set a few years after the events of this series). There's been speculation that might be a different Grand Inquisitor, while one popular theory even posits that he'll be resurrected with a look more akin to his animated counterpart.

Actor Rupert Friend recently appeared on Jimmy Kimel Live!, and had the following exchange with the host when it comes to the character's fate following that shocking twist.

Kimmel: And then your character got stabbed through the stomach...
Friend: One of them.
Kimmel: One of the stomachs. Because your character has two stomachs, like a hippo or something. So that’s what many of the Star Wars analysts-slash-nerds are saying is the reason you’re able to survive this, is because you have another stomach.
Friend: You know that I survive this?
Kimmel: Yes.
Friend: How?
Kimmel: I don’t know, I’m just throwing it out there to see how you react.
Friend: Good try, though.
Kimmel: No, but I assume you do, otherwise why would you be here right now?

To that, Friend responded, "I can see the logic, and I also think you’re making a valiant effort to get me to do a spoiler, which obviously I’m not gonna do."

It was definitely an interesting misdirect by Lucasfilm to so heavily promote The Grand Inquisitor, only to quickly sideline him. Reva has proven herself an exciting antagonist, of course, and the only way for her to take centre stage was to somehow sideline the leader of the Sith Inquisitors.

Whether there will be some sort of twist with the villain in the next two episodes remains to be seen. With cloning a running theme in many Star Wars stories being told on Disney+, it's always possible Obi-Wan Kenobi will head down that route, revealing that The Grand Inquisitor, and the rest of these Sith loyalists, aren't quite what they seem on the surface.

There’s GOT to be a twist coming. C’mon Friend looks like a really bad cosplay. I mean say what ya will about the Cad Bane live action debut but at least he looked enough like him to be instantly recognizable as the character and species. The main issue i have here is the fact that we’ve already had
Pau'ans depicted in live action and that ain’t it. C’mon Lucasfilm you’re better than this. That being said I’m diggin the series as a whole the most!
