SKELETON CREW Will Be Disney+'s Most Expensive STAR WARS Series; Has Jaleel White Joined The Show's Cast?

During this year's Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm officially announced Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. The Disney+ series will focus on a group of kids lost in the Galaxy who are looking for a way home, while Jude Law (Fantastic Beasts) is the show's first confirmed cast member.

We know that Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) and Christopher Ford (Chaos Walking) are developing the project, but the budget has now been revealed by The Hollywood Reporter.

According to the trade, Skeleton Crew will be the most expensive Star Wars TV show produced for Disney+ with a budget of $136 million and $20 million of that coming from California tax credits. Like Andor, it's believed this series will be shot on location rather than relying on The Volume, so we're assuming that could be what makes it that little bit more expensive.

The trade refers to these upcoming episodes as a "season one," but we can't take that as confirmation Skeleton Crew will be anything more than a one-and-done series.

According to popular rumour monger DeuxMoi, a beloved actor from a popular 90s series is heading to a Galaxy Far, Far Away for an upcoming Star Wars series. Based on information shared on that page, Bespin Bulletin speculates they're referring to Steve Urkel from Family Matters

Despite being best known for that series, he's also appeared in House, Atlanta, and Hustle

There's nothing concrete to suggest this is referring to Skeleton Crew, but that same source previously revealed Law's casting weeks before it was made official. Ahsoka is currently shooting as well, so that series is another possibility, but we'd bank on it being this story set shortly after the events of Return of The Jedi.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2023.
