Dune director Denis Villeneuve promised that his upcoming sequel would be a lot more action-focused than its predecessor, and if this first trailer for Part Two is any indication, he wasn't exaggerating.

The teaser begins with Paul Atreides and Chani sharing a sweet moment in the desert, but things soon take a more sinister turn as we're introduced to Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh), who relays a foreboding prophecy.

From there, we get quick glimpses of some new and returning characters, including Baron Harkonnen's other nephew, the formidable - and sadistically ruthless - Feyd-Rautha (Austin Butler), who will serve as the movie's main antagonist.

Then, we get an extended look at what will surely be one of the movie's biggest set pieces, as Paul scales one of Arrakis' gigantic sandworms while Chani, Stillgar and the Fremen look on in awe.

Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think in the comments.

The saga continues as award-winning filmmaker Denis Villeneuve embarks on Dune: Part Two, the next chapter of Frank Herbert’s celebrated novel Dune, with an expanded all-star international ensemble cast. The film, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2021’s six-time Academy Award-winning Dune.

Dune: Part Two will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.

The movie also stars Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Christopher Walken, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Léa Seydoux, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem.

Dune: Part Two will be released November 3rd, 2023.

About Dune:

"Dune," an innovative and epic work of science fiction written in 1965 by Frank Herbert, is the first book of the well-known Dune trilogy.

"Dune" was initially published as two independent serials in Analog magazine. It quickly earned critical acclaim and fame, and in 1966 it shared the Hugo Award for Best Novel with "This Immortal" by Roger Zelazny. "Dune" also won the first-ever Nebula Award for Best Novel.

The journalistic work that Frank Herbert did in the late 1950s served as a source of motivation for him to write his novel "Dune." In Florence, Oregon, Herbert was a witness to the conflict between man and nature, and he documented the extent of the damage caused by the advancement of the desert.

Herbert's interest in religion, the psychology of leadership, and the impact that leaders have on the minds of their followers, all elements that would later be woven into "Dune," were sparked by his debut novel "Under Pressure," which was serialized in 1955. It was later released as "The Dragon in the Sea".

"Dune" is a science fiction story that takes place on the planet Arrakis and centers on the adventures of a young man named Paul Atreides. Paul is the heir to a noble family that has been charged with the responsibility of ruling an inhospitable world. The "spice" melange is Arrakis' most important resource since it is a powerful drug that may both increase one's level of consciousness and lengthen one's lifespan.

"Dune" has had a significant impact on the field of science fiction, helping to pave the way for the creation of works of space fantasy literature and even serving as an inspiration for seminal works such as "Star Wars".

The international best-selling novels "Dune Messiah," "Children of Dune," "God Emperor of Dune," "Heretics of Dune," and "Chapterhouse: Dune" continued Frank Herbert's legacy in the Dune universe.

Oh my God....I have had the greatest orgasm of my life.

This looks so EPIC it is starting to make Star Wars seem like a Saturday Cartoon.

If this film is as good as it looks it might just be the greatest space opera ever made. Villeneuve will do for Space operas what Christopher Nolan did for comic book films.
