Production is still underway on Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part 2 in Abu Dhabi, and star Zendaya has taken to Instagram to share a new photo from in and around the set.

The Euphoria actress is clearly not in-costume as her character, Chani, but the shot does a great job of highlighting the vastness of the desert that will once again double for the barren planet known as Arrakis.

Zendaya didn't really have a lot to do in Part 1 (she basically only appeared in the opening and closing sequences), but it has been confirmed that Chani will be a much bigger part of the sequel, as her people, The Fremen, join Paul Atreides on his mission to rid Arrakis of its ruthless Harkonnen occupiers.

Dune: Part 2's new cast additions include Austin Butler as Feyd Rautha, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, the legendary Christopher Walken as The Emperor, and Lea Seydoux as Lady Margot Fenring. Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and Dave Bautista will reprise their roles from the first film.

The synopsis reads: “Part Two will focus on Paul assembling a massive army of Fremen to combat the ruthless Harkonnen, as he essentially becomes a mythical messiah figure to the inhabitants of Arrakis.”

Dune: Part Two was recently pushed back from October 20, 2023 to November 17, 2023.
