Get ready for some extreme animation. Netflix's hit animated anthology series Love Death + Robots is set to return for its third season next month on May 20.

Led by Tim Miller and David Fincher, Love Death + Robots features multiple animated shorts loosely brought together by their thematic connection to the three subjects mentioned in the title: love, death, and robots. Each episode features one or multiple elements commonly found within these topics, but tells a unique story. Each episode varies greatly in tone and visual style.

After an 18 episode debut season, Love Death + Robots was scaled back for its sophomore season. Volume 2 consisted of just shorts, and it was previously reported that Volume 3 will also be on the shorter side (also reportedly 8 episodes).

Although brief in length, there's never any shorts of terrifying creatures, wicked surprises, and dark comedy in Love Death + Robots. And it seems, based on the teaser, we're getting more of what we love. It also seems like some of the episodes in Volume 3 will revisit some characters from previous seasons.

Love Death + Robots Volume 3 is set to debut on Netflix on May 20.
