The Asylum - the independent distribution company responsible for the likes of Sharknado and Transmorphers - has unveiled the trailer for their latest "mockbuster," Battle for Pandora.

Clearly attempting to capitalize on the imminent release of Avatar: The Way of Water, this appears to have very little to do with James Cameron's big-budget sci-fi adventures beyond the use of the word Pandora, and actually looks more like a rip-off of Ridley Scott's Prometheus with an Abyss-like alien thrown in for good measure.

These Asylum movies can be good for a few laughs, but this seems to be taking itself a little too seriously for our liking!

Have a look at the trailer for yourselves, and let us know if you plan on giving Battle for Pandora a bash.

"After a help signal from a research vessel makes it back to Earth, the U.S. Space Force sends a rescue ship to Pandora, a moon of Saturn’s. But when they try to land, they discover Pandora is already inhabited by a highly evolved humanoid species that won’t give up their Earthling prisoners without a fight."

Battle for Pandora is now available on VOD, and stars Tom Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan), Mark Riketson (Fatal Memory), and Kristos Andrews (The Bay).
